We are a roller derby skating league that hold matches in Birmingham --- we are seeking an announcer to get involved with our league.

Main responsibilities include:

Learning about our sport (understanding the rules and plays of the game)
Providing play-by-play commentary
Being the 'voice of the game' during our competitions
Helping to promote a family focussed, action packed, skating event in a positive manner

This is a great opportunity to show your mad skills --- if you are naturally vocal - have a great personality - know how to have fun - and can work a crowd then we want to talk to you.

Experience would be great, but we will train.

This is a ongoing, however sporatic job --- for a bit of extra pocket money on the side really --- but the ongoing nature is that you can get involved with our sport and become as much a part of it as you like.

Each event lasts up to 3 hours --- rates of pay are good.

Please apply with a bit about yourself, any experience you may have.

Check out our website for info on our sport: www.blitzdames.com

Email info@blitzdames.com

Thanks.

Bee Sting , its Mack the Mouth from Team Canada and I was going to ask you if you could hook me up with your announcer prior to our bout on the 13th. Based on this posting you are hunting one down. And you are offering pay!! Wow, I might just consider relocating if I can pass the audition.
By the way "Friday the Hurteenth"...nicely done.
Please let me know how I can be of any help as we get closer to the bout.
All the best.

Hey Mack,

We've got a girl to help and support you, but as the most experienced announcer on the day we'll get you to lead if that's okay. Her name is Milana -- I'll put her in touch with you by email.

As far as our 'help wanted' for announcers, we certainly do struggle here to find good help. It's really only a gesture considering all the work that goes into being a good announcer and everything you have to learn, you know?! Had only one reply and when gave them the job description, they've not replied... ha.

Really looking forward to it!

Bee

Sounds great, Milana will be a great resource for me to help with skaters names, watching the play. calling out sponsors. I much prefer having two of us, as it is diffifcult for one person to keep track with all of the action going on.
Keep your standards high for your announcer applicants, better to wait till you get someone truly into the sport than someone who likes the sound of their own voice.

Thanks for the tip.

Milana is great --- she did a lot with the last bout --- got the gift of gab!

We'll also have all the info you need for sponsors / skaters / after party for easy reference.

Thanks for your help --- mucho appreciato!

Bee x

Where's my pay for the last bout, eh??

Of course, I jest, but on a serious note, when you find someone, get 'em in touch with me and I'll help them out anyway I can with resources, advice etc!

Of course you can, but we're pushing our events right now - so if you can help out with promoting roller blitz / team canada that would be better use of time. Cheers! x

They are the DJ's and it takes an awful lot of time and research in knowing the game --- moreso than just a score to score announcement --- it's about knowing the girls and the plays --- so they are not available. We've had a really good response to our ad and brought on a couple new potential announcers already.
