Bee Sting

 CRASH: Blitz Dames Victorious! What an amazing bout yesterday.
Thank you to all the Glasgow Rollergirls for bouting us --- it was simply the best roller derby experience of our lives so far!
You ladies are hard hard hard and we're all sore today, but it's a good sore.
Thanks to all the volunteers, our friends, family, derby sisters and supporters for helping and cheering us on.
Special thanks to our new ref team, it was your first bout, you studied hard, you worked hard, each team got the same treatment, you should feel really proud of yourselves --- we're proud of you!

OK so as I was involved I had a very narrow view of events so I missed a load of stuff that went on. But from my perspective, from the chaotic blur, I can remember
Sleazy Rider clearing me a path and always knowing when her jammer was coming
Magda still wanting to get out there and fight when we only had one jam to go and everyone else was looking tired
Bee skating like it was easy and pulling off some crowd pleasing sliding takedowns (crowd all going 'eeeeee' at once)
Fury looking scarily in the zone and returning every challenge with interest. ain't nobody tougher.
Elle Fire holding her nerve and holding the line
Kiki and Val working the ref look to the max in different ways!
All the refs screaming to keep the skaters in line over the crowd noise
Skatrix dominating the centre area - pointing that finger and projecting those clear tones
Tear E swooping clear of the pack and stepping round the bodies; skating wide and low when blocking. those long legs.
Violet Attack blocking one minute, hitting the next, jamming with speed and focus
Saintly Sin being so up for it - chasing and hitting - she was deliberately winding up Armalite Angie as a tactic to help our jammers. is she nuts?
Gun Bunny getting back in there after taking some heavy hits in the first half, throwing herself around blocking girls easily twice her weight
Lornatik keeping calm in the line-up area, even when the planned line-ups went awry and skaters were injured or dazed or plain not listening
The Glasgow girls seemed like a friendly bunch. ... off track....
It was a very competitive bout and given we were outnumbered 14-10 with some of our skaters injured or unavailable, the fact we were coming back so strongly at the end shows that the endurance training we do is so worthwhile. Also thanks to Fury and Bee for the half time focus and regroup inspiration.
OK so back to real life now. sweaty kit washing to do...

Yep, she is nuts :D but hey it sure as hell worked didn't it? :) she seemed to be really nice off the track :) They all did, what a lovely bunch :)

The bout was amazine and i am so happy we won. I wanna get back out there and skate some more.
Although i do have a bad injury... I have broke my toe! Dont ask how it happened but it did oh my eye is fine now just got a small cut in my eyebrow thats all.
Well done everyone, it was wicked.
